サブドミナントマイナー / subdominant minor

サブドミナント・マイナーは、曲のキー（調）を一時的に暗く、切ない響きに変えるために使われるコードである。
これは、同じルート（根音）を持つメジャーキー（長調）とマイナーキー（短調）の間で、コードを「借りてくる」手法の一つだ。具体的には、主調のサブドミナント（$\text{IV}コード）を、同主短調（同じルートのマイナーキー）のサブドミナント・マイナー（\text{IVm}$コード）に置き換える。
例えば、キーがCメジャー（ハ長調）の場合、本来のサブドミナントは$\text{F}メジャーだが、これを同主短調Cマイナーから借りた\text{F}マイナー（\text{Fm}）にすることで、一瞬にして叙情的で哀愁漂う響きを付け加えることができる。このコードは、次のドミナント（\text{V}）やトニック（\text{I}$）へ解決する前に挟まれることが多く、ドラマチックな感情表現に非常に効果的だ。
